Business Objects Developer

Location: Orlando, FL

Start Date: June 18 or June 25

Duration: 4+ months, with possible extension

Job Description:

The BW/BOBJ developer will be responsible for the strategy, design, development, and implementation of a BOBJ Dashboard and reports with BW as the source system. In addition to product delivery work, this position entails looking across products to assist in defining standards, direction, and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Broad BOBJ experience including Business Objects Enterprise platform, Crystal, WebI, Xcelsius, and Voyager. In addition, the ability to position all these products correctly in an enterprise solution

• work with small cross functional teams to include management of client staff assigned to implementation team in the completion of one or more solution requirements, architecture, or implementation deliverables

• Provides consulting advice to customer senior Information Technology (IT) leadership and sets strategic direction for customers

• Provides the technical direction and solution design required to resolve issues to ensure the on-time delivery of solutions that meet customer expectations

• Experience with BOBJ 4.0 suite of tools and latest versions across 1-2 large scale projects is a must.

• Experience with large size and volume data is a must.

Project:

Client has implemented BOBJ 4.0 FP2, SP14 – latest version. Client has some legacy Reports in their existing BW environment that they want to convert to BOBJ Reports and Dashboards.  There are approximately 15 reports, but some of these may have multiple data sources and queries below them. Expected go live date is by end of Sep with Hypercare support after that. There may be additional projects after this.  They expect best practices and dashboard to be implemented and to increase usability of the BOBJ system. Experience with large size and volume data is a must. Performance may be something that will need to be addressed as part of this project. Some extensions of the BW system may be required and there will be BW resources available, but BW experience is desired for this project. BW is on version 7.3 already.

Specific Areas of expertise:

• Hardware sizing a BOBJ deployment version XI R3

• Installation & configuration of core BOBJ Enterprise product suite; Xcelsius, MOBI, Voyager and Data Services will be nice to have

• Enterprise and custom (LDAP, SSO) security configuration

• Experience with BO EIM products (Data Services/Data Integrator, Metadata Manager) or SAP BO's Packaged Analytical Apps / Rapid Marts

• Universe design and development, Reporting, Dashboard design and development

• BOBJ Standards and Best Practices & Troubleshooting

• Dimensional data modeling concepts

• Business Objects Server sizing, tuning and trouble-shooting

• Business Objects project estimation

• Project management

Experience:

• Bachelor s Degree

• At least 10 years of overall IT experience

• At least 8 years experience in Business Intelligence Solutions

• At least 6-8 years of experience in Business Objects suite (Universe designer, webi, Crystal, Xcelsius, Voyager, etc)

• At least 4 successful deployments with Business Objects tools on SAP data sources.

• A minimum of 4-5 full life cycle large project implementations

• Experience in delivering projects under distributed delivery framework

• At least 3 years of experience in project management

- A minimum of 4 full life cycle large project implementations

- A minimum of 3 years experience with business process components, module integration & client facing consulting engagements

- A minimum of 5 years experience in a delivery role

- A minimum of 5 years functional experience within an IT environment

- A minimum of 5 years knowledge of designing different processes/solutions for various clients

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong executive presence and ability to interact with top executives

- Successful teamwork experience & demonstrated leadership abilities

- 5-7 years of related work experience

ETL Developer Job Description ETL Developer needed to assist in a data warehouse development project.  This resource will be a member of the Data Integrity & Analytics team responsible for delivering high-value BI solutions to support strategic business needs.    The successful candidate will have recent experience developing ETL packages using SSIS 2008, where the source & destination were both Oracle databases.  Must have: ·         At least 5 years of recent experience as a SSIS developer (preferably 2008 version) ·         At least 5 years of recent experience working with Oracle DB (10/11g) ·         Recent experience developing SSIS packages where the source and destination was an Oracle Database ·         Experience using data warehouse and BI concepts (Facts & Dimensions) ·         Experience developing SSIS packages for large amounts of data ·         Experience deploying SSIS packages to different environments ·         Experience scheduling SSIS packages ·         Experience working in a 64-bit SSIS version ·         Experience troubleshooting SSIS package issues, as well as implementing checkpoints and error handling solutions ·         Experience optimizing SSIS packages for performance & data quality ·         Ability to work well in team environments of varying composition, personalities, roles, and responsibilities ·         Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts with fellow team members as well as peers in other groups Nice to have: ·         Experience troubleshooting SSIS package performance issues ·         Experience troubleshooting connectivity between Oracle and SSIS ·         Experience training peers on the use of SSIS
