New Flight services

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/opi ... 220073.cms

You have plans to expand fast on international routes. Is it the right time to go all out and is there an appetite to digest initial losses?

We will be launching flights to Hong Kong, Kabul, Riyadh Guangzhou (China) and Maldives. These launches will happen over the next few months. We sought permission to fly to Dubai only in March and we opened sales for Dubai on June 8, and in less than a week we have sold 6,000 seats. So, the demand is there for a good product. We do not see losing money on these routes. Most of these routes are not common routes. We expect the gestation period for them will be shorter. For example, we will be flying to Maldives from Trichy and Trivandrum and are targeting medical tourists and trading community from the region. We will use a Q400 on this route as we are already using the same aircraft on the Chennai-Colombo route successfully.
