JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare layout of piping systems and establish plant layout for power plant
- Coordinate equipment layout (electrical) and piping design with vendor supplied equipment
- Prepare flow sheet and P&ID drawings and preparation of line, valve and tie-in lists
- Ability to acquire and present accurate dimensional field data
- Locate equipment and route pipe in field (from pictures)
- Coordinate with engineering group for piping support locations and stress analysis
- Generate piping isometrics
- Knowledge and ability to model using 3D software (pipe and equipment)
- Review Request for Proposal packages from customers, including constructions, technical specifications, drawings and technical data

Lead Piping Designer (2IC) - Calgary, AB
Our client is a major international engineering, project management and consulting company with offices around the world delivering signature projects and services to their clients.
They are currently looking to add a highly skilled and qualified Lead Piping Designer to their Calgary team.
Responsibilities:
• Work under own initiative on plot plan and piping design using Intergraph PDS 3D CAD system
• Provide support to Project Discipline Lead and act as second in command (2IC)
• Interface with project management, other discipline leads and client on a regular basis
• Responsible for the preparation of the designs & supervision of the design team
• Provide input to all aspects of the design process
• Interface with project management, other discipline leads and client on a regular basis
• Schedule work release packages and CWPs
• Plan manpower usage and provide estimates
• Supervise the development of the design model
• Check piping plan and isometric drawings
• Check piping materials and MTOs against client standards and line classes
• Oversee the production of all required deliverables
• Ensure compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable plant operation, construction economy, and maintenance/operating convenience
• Assist in the coordination of overall plant space utilization across all disciplines. Coordinate or make jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents
• Review or define engineering scope changes, as required, for project and discipline use, and compile and maintain job files, records, and progress reports for work assigned to project team
• Implement the Company Safety and Quality Policies and deliver quality design documents in accordance with safe practice
Requirements:
• Degree or Trade / College Diploma in Mechanical / Piping design, production or similar
• 10+ years of experience in piping design
• Proven Lead experience
• Field experience an asset
