Position: Structural Engineer
Location: Dubai
Responsibilities:
• Provides structural design and technical services (e.g., assistance to fabrication and construction) that are in compliance with the latest codes, standards and safety regulations with full responsibility and accountability.
• Performs structural analysis (in-place, transportation, lift, etc.) using structural engineering design software such as STAADPro.
• Develops cost effective, safe and fit for purpose structural engineering design solutions.
• Prepares design/analysis report and material take-off report.
• Reviews and verifies vendors’ information.
• Reviews fabrication and installation documents/drawings.
• Reviews existing procedures, technical standards, and specifications and recommends amendments.
• Prepares project structural specification and design basis.
• Carries out single discipline (SDC) and inter-disciplinary (IDC) checks for the assigned projects.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Structural Engineer with formal engineering qualifications.
• Can perform independently with minimal supervision and work in a multi-discipline team.
• A track record in the detailed design & analysis of steel structures associated to process industry projects. Preference shall be given to those who possess experience in offshore structural design and/or construction, i.e., familiar with API RP 2A, Lloyds, Noble Denton, ABS and other similar codes of practice.
• Minimum bachelor degree in civil/ structural engineering or equivalent.
• Well-versed with International Building Codes, American Codes, BS Codes and other related/similar Structural Engineering and Construction Codes and Standards.
