My Client is urgently seeking a Senior Piping Engineer in the EPCM - Mining Industry
You will be providing total solutions for the conversion of natural resources into marketable products, the Engineering department seeks the services of a Principle Piping Engineer.
The main function within this role is to provide engineering support to the piping decipline.
Design piping systems in accordance with recognised piping design codes and specifications
Carry out dynamic and static analysis using piping stress analysis software
Carry out valve and piping bulk material selections
Generate pipe material specifications
Generate piping bills of material
Generate fabrication, erection and testing specifications
Adjudication of contractor and supplier bids
Interact with and advise the piping design / drawing office
Fundamental knowledge of 3 D design software
Skills Experience & Education
Discipline specific engineering skills
Business acumen
Project Management Skills
Critical evaluation skills
Problem solving skills
You will have a BSc / B Eng or B Tech registed as professional engineer or technologist.
8 years plus piping experience in design and project management within a processing or petrochemical plant projects environment is required.

SENIOR PIPING EXPERT NEEDED IN GERMANY FOR A GLOBAL CHEMICAL COMPANY
My client is a leading speciality chemical company with a yearly turnover of over €9 billion. Their site in North Rhine Westphalia is one of the biggest in Germany and they are current looking for a SENIOR PIPING EXPERT.
MAIN TASKS
- Lead piping expert for a global chemical company
- Consulting and temporary lead function as discipline engineer piping in large investment projects worldwide
- Definition of the company’s global technical standards for the piping discipline
- Development & management of pipe specifications (pipe fittings, valves, gaskets)
- Selection & management of tools for the layout/design of chemical plants and pipelines
- Professional evaluation of piping contractors
- Development of tools & procedures for construction & material management in the piping discipline
- Management of piping contractors including bid packages, contracting, quality assurance, progress monitoring, cost control and invoicing
- Cost estimates and benchmarking in the field of piping (engineering & construction phase)
REQUIRED COMPETENCE
- University degree (MSc or BSc) in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or in a comparable discipline ; above average mark
- It is essential that you are able to work in Germany therefore you will need to be based in the EU.
- Very solid knowledge of relevant technical regulations and standards in the field of piping
- Experience with the design and calculation of pipelines
- Over 5 years experience in the field of pipe fittings, valves and gaskets, applied in the operation of chemical / petrochemical plants and/or in large investment projects (engineering, pipe fabrication, construction)
- Good knowledge and experience with the layout planning of plants and pipelines utilizing modern 3D/2D planning tools
- Mobility for working in foreign countries (temporarily, approx. 8 weeks in a row)
- Good German language skills (speaking & writing)
- Good English language skills (speaking & writing)
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES
- Experience with the fabrication of pipe spools and pipe fittings
- Experience as Manager of investment projects in the chemical / petrochemical industry
- Own practical experience with pipe fabrication and installation
SALARY
