Position - Project Manager (Manufacturing Vertical: Oil and Gas, Petrochemical)


Experience:
 12+ years experience from a manufacturing vertical

Vertical Preferred: Oil and gas, Petrochemical


Work Location - Bangalore, but willing to travel based on Project Requirements

 
Requirement:
1. Experience in handling end to end project life cycle

2. Knowledge on .net is a plus

3. Good communication Skills

4. Excellent Team handling and project management skills

5. Willing to travel long term oversees. The period varies from 3 months+ to 1+ year. The location can be Middle East (like Saudi or Dubai) or can be Thailand. If assignment is 1 year, then family can also be moved

Reporting: This position reports to Operations Director

Roles and Responsibilities:



1. Schedule Management
a. Ensure a high level business plan remains up to date and all changes are backed by approved CRs

b. Ensure all the tasks are covered in the MPP based on the execution methodology and is consistent across

c. Ensure all critical dependencies are accounted for especially external dependencies

d. Ensure detailed MPP plan always remain updated and proactively follow-up with PMs to ensure that they regularly update the progress %

e. Bring to the immediate attention of program manger any schedule slippage in schedule or any risk that has an impact on the schedule (e.g. a dependency not materializing etc.)

f. Suggest corrective actions ( including ‘out of box’ ideas) to arrest schedule slippages



2. Progress Reporting
a. Generate weekly & monthly progress % ( actual v/s plan) based on the earned value system

b. Coordinate with track PMs to prepare weekly & monthly management reports

c. Develop a project reporting dashboard with key KPIs

d. Ensure updating of project dashboard on a weekly basis with key project reporting KPIs ( progress, quality, deliverables, training , issues, risks etc.)

e. Facilitate progress review meetings and issue minutes of meeting and also ensure correct logging of issues & actions arising of review meetings



3. Resources Management
a. Prepare resources plan based on the overall project schedule and requirements

b. Assist Program Manager in resource requirement assessment ( both quality and quantity) while working through the PMs

c. Update plan with actual mobilization against the plan

d. Immediately bring to the attention of the Program Manger the gaps or risks in resources both in terms of quality, quantity, and timely availability

e. Manage and report staff deployment and availability ( In office , at site, planned vacations, in and out of office etc.) on a weekly basis

f. Ensure back-ups are available when certain project staff are out of office and bring to immediate attention of the program manager any issues



4. Issues & Risk Management
a. Proactively monitor the projects and identify issues and risks and bring to the attention of the PMs for discussions, and subsequently ensure these are logged in the registers

b. Proactively follow –up with the PMs to ensure timely closure of issues, risks, and action items.

c. Immediately bring to the attention of the Program Managers any critical issues .risks that are overdue and have adverse impact on the project

d. Suggest ideas on closures of issues and risks to the PMs/Program Managers

e. Prepare and update the overall risk profile of the project and regularly bring to the attention of the Program Managers critical areas of the concerns

f. Prepare and report Issues and risk statistics



5. Document Management
a. In coordination with the PMs develop a list of the deliverables for each track

b. Ensure all the deliverables are properly logged in the master index and the master index remain up to date al the time

c. Track status of the deliverables and highlight any bottlenecks in the document review process

d. Prepare and issue documents status statistics and highlight any ‘red’ areas



6. Scope Management
a. Closely work with the PMs to ensure scope changes are properly tracked and recorded

b. Ensure all scope changes are backed by approved CRs

c. Ensure any scope risks are immediately brought to the attention of the Program Mangers and logged into the risk register



7. Communication management
a. Ensure effective communication across the project teams

b. Ensure all project policies , procedures, decisions are clearly communicated formally through Project Instructions

c. Ensure there is no silo working and each project track works in a coordinated way

d. Facilitate internal project review meetings and discussions



8. Project Information management
a. Ensure a dashboard style project information (to be updated weekly) exist for all project members to refer to the project information. Ensure central repository for project documentation deliverables is organized in a structured way and remains up to date

b. Ensure access to various shared folders are controlled and monitored

c. Ensure project information remains consistent and single version of truth exist at all times



9. Project Administration
a. Ensure project governance documents are in place and always up to date

b. Ensure key project processes are defined and being followed

c. Ensure any gaps in any processes are brought to the attention of the program managers and are fixed

d. Proactive suggest areas of improvements and highlight areas of concerns

e. Manage project logistics



10. Cost Management
a. Prepare and payment schedule and invoicing plan and ensure it is agreed by the client

b. Report payments status

c. Manage and expedite invoicing process

d. Mange vendor invoicing and payments

e. Proactive highlight any issues and risks
