Responsibilities and duties::
• Have an understanding of the project scope of work, budget and schedule
• Develop and maintain Piping and Instrument Diagrams as related to the project HVAC systems.
• Perform heating and cooling load and ventilation calculations and studies.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and line and vent sizing.
• Coordinate with Process Safety, Structural Engineering, Instrument Engineering and Automation along with equipment suppliers in the sizing, rating and selection of equipment and the associated instrumentation and controls.
• Maintain project equipment specifications and data sheets.
• Prepare mechanical equipment technical requisitions for bid and purchase along with technical bid evaluations and purchase recommendations
• Provide technical assistance and support for the procurement of major equipment
• Oversee and coordinate specialized mechanical design with in-house specialists
• Prepare estimates for equipment costs and weights, and for Engineering and Design labor man-hours.
• Perform review of equipment supplier documentation. Coordinate multi-discipline review.
• Prepare subcontract scopes of work and bid packages.
